We inspected the roof, walked Jim through every layer of the system, and finalized the material selection before the crew was on the calendar.
Before any shingles went on the roof, we laid CertainTeed DiamondDeck synthetic underlayment across the full deck and installed an ice and water shield at the eaves and other critical zones. The layers the storm never sees are the ones that have to be right.
The crew staged bundles of Presidential TL at the ridge before the first row went down. Presidential TL is heavier than a standard architectural shingle, so getting the staging plan right was as important as the install itself.
Presidential TL is a thicker, dimensional shingle, and the shadow lines built up as each row went down. The crew installed it exactly the way the manufacturer specifies, giving Jim the cedar-shake texture he wanted.

We replaced the older skylight units while the roof was open and flashed each one into the new system as we went. The seal was part of the install, not a separate visit Jim would have to schedule later.
A vented roof system lets air flow through the attic, which prevents moisture buildup that can damage the shingles and the wood underneath. We planned the ventilation during the design phase and built it into the installation.
We captured every phase of the install in photos and drone footage. Jim now has a permanent record of the materials, the system underneath, and how the work was done.
From the driveway, the roof now looks like cedar shake: dimensional, textured, every shadow line where it should be. The flat, dated shingle that pulled the property down is gone. In its place, a designer Presidential TL roof in a charcoal tone that finally pairs with the red siding, the stone foundation, and the white trim, the way the architecture always intended. And Jim has the documentation to show exactly what’s sitting under the shingles.
